A 35-YEAR-OLD woman facing a count of causing death by negligent driving in relation to a fatal crash appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on more driving charges.

Elizabeth Anne Quill, of Lalla, has pleaded not guilty to causing the death Jayden John Pearce at Lower Turners March on Christmas Day, 2018.
Eighteen-year-old Mr Pearce died when the Kia Rio in which he was a passenger collided head-on with the Ford Laser being driven by Ms Quill.
In other news:
Police allege that Ms Quill failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep left of a dividing line and failed to take all reasonable precautions to avoid a collision.
She was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with amphetamine and methylamphetamine in her system at the time of the crash.
Ms Quill has been charged with three counts of driving with illicit substance in her body since the crash and a count of driving while her licence was suspended.
Police Ms Quill drove at Pipers River with an illicit substance in her blood on January 21, 2019, as well as using an unregistered motor vehicle, using a motor vehicle without a premium cover, and a count of use a controlled drug.
She has also pleaded not guilty to two further counts of driving while an illicit drug is present on November 28, 2019, in York Street at Launceston and on March 1, 2020, on the East Tamar Highway at Dilston. A further alleged count
Police also allege she drove on July 28, 2020, at Ravenwood at a time when her licence was suspended.
Crown prosecutor Emily Bill made an application for a witness, who was the first on the scene of the crash, to provide evidence via video link from Adelaide.
Magistrate Ken Stanton adjourned all matters to October 27 at 11.30pm.
