The games will see athletes with an intellectual disability come together to compete across 10 competitions and four demonstration sports.
Games director for Special Olympics Australia Bredette Koen said the games is an opportunity for those connected to intellectual disability to be welcomed into the world of Special Olympics and share the joy of sports.

"It is in this spirit of connected communities which we are calling for submissions for the creation of our National Games logo and brand from the design community of Tasmania," she said.
"The winning designer for the brand and logo will be awarded $4,500 and become an integral part of the Special Olympics movement."
Ms Koen said they are seeking the creation of a brand and logo that reflects "the joy of sport, the enthusiasm of Special Olympics athletes, our celebration of ability whilst representing the uniqueness of Launceston and Tasmania".
The design competition is now open, with submissions due by October 30.
