Thursday was meant to mark the final Launceston show at the Inveresk site, however the show did not go on.
In June, Launceston Show Society president Jock Gibson said the committee was forced to cancel the show due to COVID restrictions, however they are continuing to work on the 2021 show, including looking for a permanent venue.

Even without the show, the public holiday continued in typical fashion - with wet weather blanketing Northern Tasmania.
Attorney-General Elise Archer confirmed on Thursday that after a review, the government will not make any significant changes to local public holidays, including show day holidays, at this time.
