The centrepiece of the club's most successful decade has left for Hadspen but the Shamrocks appear no less intimidating heading into 2020-21.
"We've asked the players this year to buy in a little bit more and commit themselves to bettering their skills moreso than previous years and it's been received really well," captain Dan Murfet said.
"The majority of the guys are working really hard and we're seeing guys wanting to do extras and improve their game overall and plenty of people are putting their hands up for selection."
The Shamrocks have counterbalanced the loss of Anderson and Jake Williams with ex-captain John Kedey and Jesse Digney returning from stints with TCL outfit ACL.
The pair have brought experienced Sri Lankan all-rounder Chathura Athukorala along for the ride while Longford 16-year-old Alex Jordan is likely to press for senior selection as the season goes on.
"It's freshened things up a bit with a few of these older guys, especially Keds coming back," Murfet said of the club's wide-ranging demographic.
"He just wants to work hard and see how he can go this season which I think has been refreshing to see for the young guys who have their cricket careers ahead of them.
"I think that filters through and that's the same with Chathura - he's in his mid-30s and he's always at training working to build his skills and I think lot of the younger guys have followed that.
"He's been really good for us and he's a really nice bloke as well which is just as good as being a good cricketer - we value getting good people into the club just as much, if not moreseo, than good cricketers."
Nathan Parkin should play a bigger role after missing the second half of 2019-20, as will injury-free 18-year-old Joey Griffin, while veteran quick Nick Spencer has lost none of his pace after an impressive pre-season.

SOUTH LAUNCESTON
- COACH: Dean Hawkins
- CAPTAIN: Sean Harris
- LAST SEASON: Second
- INS: Gavin Nutting (George Town), Mackenzie Barker (returning)
- OUTS: James Lee (Launceston), Anders Bulow (Denmark), Jackson Young (Clarence)
Covering the absences of Jackson Young and Josh Freestone will be top priority for South Launceston following a season which saw COVID shut the door on another grand final against Westbury.
Arguably the most fearsome pace pairing of the past two seasons, Young will play with Clarence for at least the first half of the campaign while Freestone (knee surgery) is aiming for a December return.
Star batsman Sean Harris, who has assumed the captaincy from Tom Waller, backed an experienced recruit and an evergreen quick to help shoulder the load.
"Hopefully Gavin Nutting will get his opportunity with the new ball or bowling first change and Graham Donaldson was definitely one of our more consistent performers last year," Harris said.
"He'll take on a big seam bowling load for us, particularly early in the year.
"Ben Jackson's been in and out of the team for the last few years so he's another one that will probably get a larger role in first grade, particularly in the first month or two of the season."

Grand finalists for the past four seasons, South have also welcomed Mackenzie Barker back from a four-year lay-off while young opener Doug Ryan continues to improve following an impressive start to first grade cricket.
Harris, Nathan Philip and second-year all-rounder Ishang Shah can all be relied on for big runs, although the latter is likely to spend some time in Raiders colours this season.
"We're just really looking forward to the season starting to see where we're at," Harris said.
"We feel like we've improved from last year and we've added a little bit of depth to our squad.
"Some of our younger guys have got a bit more experience under their belt and know the role they're going to have to play in our team so we feel we're in a really strong position, that we've improved on last year and we're just looking forward to getting the season underway."
LAUNCESTON
- COACH: Andy Gower
- CAPTAIN: Alistair Taylor
- LAST SEASON: Third
- INS: Rowan Smith (year off), James Lee (South Launceston), Dilan Sandagirigoda (Longford)
- OUTS: Zac Oldenhof (year off), Ethan Conway (Glenorchy)
The return of one of the competition's most reliable all-rounders and the addition of two recruits has Launceston aiming for silverware.
Rowan Smith is back from a year off while TCL superstar Dilan Sandagirigoda and steady South Launceston bat James Lee - the older brother of Lion Matty - have arrived to help the cause.
"We want to win a premiership - that's our goal," captain Alistair Taylor said.
"We've had a few years now where we've made prelim finals and with picking up a couple of guys like Rowan back and Dilly and James we think we're in a really good place to push for a premiership.
"We're kind of sick of finishing in the second last week and not the last week of March, so that's the goal for our group."
Last season's surprise packet Ethan Conway has departed for Glenorchy but the Lions have plenty of other young stars looking to take the next step.
Will Bennett is set to improve from last season while fellow all-rounder James Curran has barely missed a session despite State League football commitments.
"We've had a really solid pre-season so the boys are itching to get out there and play a game now," Taylor said.
"Will Bennett's had a really good pre-season, he's grown a bit taller and got a bit stronger so he's starting to hit the ball really well.
"Dilly bowls some good mystery spin stuff, so he'll play a good role there for us.
"He's been really keen to play turf cricket for a little while, he's been here for a little while and got some contacts so we just had a chat to him and he came across as an assistant coach as well - he's a really good teacher, especially for the kids."
RIVERSIDE
- COACH: Lyndon Stubbs
- CAPTAIN: Tom Garwood
- LAST SEASON: Fourth
- INS: Bailey Hunt (returning)
- OUTS: Kirk Thompson (West Indies), Daniel Forster (Trevallyn)
The return of talented bat Bailey Hunt has helped add to growing squad depth at Riverside.
Fourth-placed finishers the past three years, the Blues will push for finals again in 2020-21 with Sam Lockett impressing in pre-season and teen prodigy Aidan O'Connor set to press for first grade honours.
Skipper Tom Garwood said the side's blossoming youth had helped inspire experienced trio Patty Mackrell, Ramesh Sundra and Matthew Kerrison to new levels.
"We're shaping up really well, we've probably got a squad of about 16-18 guys that could play A-grade which is really good to see," Garwood said.
"We've been really focusing in on our individual roles to make sure the team wins, so a lot of the guys have got more understanding of what their role is within the side, how to go about it and the way we want to play cricket."
The star of Riverside's 2017-18 campaign before departing for university, Hunt will likely slot into the number four position vacated by import Kirk Thompson.
His presence will add another element to a top six already boasting the experience of Garwood, Mackrell and Peter New.
"When he did have a full season he won the batting average and was very close to getting team of the year so he brings a lot of experience back into the side," Garwood said.
"He's obviously still quite young as well so we're really excited to have him back, it's definitely until Christmas but potentially the whole year.
"I believe it's going to be a very even competition this year - a lot of young guys will step up and all sides will have a couple of very good experienced players as well.
"The before-Christmas games are going to very crucial - especially when we play each other for [Cricket North]."
MOWBRAY
- COACH: James Storay/ Clinton Reid
- CAPTAIN: Luke Scott
- LAST SEASON: Fifth
- INS: -
- OUTS: John LeFevre (Hadspen)
Mowbray's quest to unearth its next premiership side continues in 2020-21 under captain Luke Scott.
The Eagles collected two wins over South Launceston last season while getting A-grade experience into teenagers Spencer Hayes, Lochie Geard, Will Dakin and Ollie Gibson.
Co-coach James Storay, Blake Cassidy, Jono Jones and spinner Sam Freeman will again front the bowling attack while young opener Will Dakin and Scott will be key players in the top three.
"We're probably looking at guys like Spencer Hayes and Will Dakin with the bat to have a good year, guys that we got a few games into over the last few years," Scott said.
"We haven't got any real limitations on where this season can go, we're certainly looking at building on what we did towards the back end of last year - if we can do that we should be competitive with pretty much everyone.
"We'll certainly be looking to win some games early on and see where that takes us."
Former skipper John LeFevre is the sole departure following a decorated career at the Eagles.
Scott said the veteran had cemented his name among the club's greats.
"He played about 250 games and captained for eight or nine years so he goes with our support," Scott said.
"I think he's top five in total runs scored in A-grade for the club and premiership captain so he's right up there - he's a big loss but hopefully it gives a young guy an opportunity to step up and make his pathway."
