Among many beautiful locations, a standout is the easily accessible Tamar Island Wetlands.
Over 60 species of birds have been identified within this thriving ecosystem of mudflats, lagoons and Islands.
The boardwalk out to Tamar Island provides ample opportunities to capture lively avian shots, amongst a striking colour palette of browns, greens, golds and blues.
For those wanting to try out macro photography, lizard, reptile and insect species are also abundant within the wetlands.
On the island itself, the convict settlers and farmers who cleared land in the Tamar Valley left their mark with imported species of trees and abandoned agricultural equipment.
With walking tracks meandering all over the island, there are numerous frames and landscapes to discover that capture a moment of this history.
The boardwalk is open from sunrise to sunset year round. Multiple trips may be necessary to experience this very Tasmanian spot in all lights and moods.
A plough lent up against a tree on Tamar Island has now become part of the tree.
Until next time.
