Rachael was the punter's pick for the $5,030 all-female decider at $3.10 off box one with twenty cents separating between Wynburn Lethal as the second favourite at $3.30 with Amy Cora next best at $6.
The red fawn classy sprinter was simply breathtaking in her performance to lead virtually from go to whoa right throughout the sprint trip coming away to score by two lengths running a slick 29.79.
Rachael was gallant in defeat to finish second with Amy Cora three and a quarter lengths away third.
Wynburn Lethal, a daughter of Dyna Double One and Wynburn Arrow, has won 18 of her 37 starts.
For owners Matt and Leah, their first voyage into ownership continues to be an even bigger thrill.
"She (Wynburn Lethal) went super, to win a Tassie Oaks is a great thrill," trainer Englund said.
ELSEWHERE IN SPORT:
The Englund family share a proud connection in the honour roll of the Sires On Ice Tasmanian Oaks with Ben's father Tom putting the polish to Society Style a winner of the race 44 years prior.
"Lethal has been in a long race preparation and the last few weeks she was looking flat.
"For a bitches' race the field she (Wynburn Lethal) was going up against, you couldn't afford to make any mistakes. The way she positioned herself into the first turn just gave her every possible chance."
Victory in the oaks adds alongside Wynburn Lethal's already long list of feature wins highlighted by an LGRC Gold Collar, Devonport Breeders Classic, Shane Yates Memorial and Illingworth Classic.
Amongst the list of star chasers produced by Englund he firmly says Wynburn Lethal ranks the best.
"Wynburn Lethal is certainly not the fastest beginner but is definitely a gusty chaser," he declared.
"Her biggest asset is that first sectional split which has definitely helped to win these feature races."
Englund says his star performance will most likely target the Group 3 Devonport Chase next month.
