Resident astronomers Dr Martin George and Chris Arkless will hold free daily talks, divulging interesting information on the topics of celestial objects and other fascinating things in the sky.
Tales will be told of the original naming of Pluto by a 12-year-old girl, the exploration of life on the planet Venus, the concept of the big bang, and the Apollo Missions.
A range of free guided tours of Southern Skies, a permanent exhibition at the museum, will also be on offer for those passionate about astronomy.

Visitors can choose to explore the Weird, Wild and Wacky tour and the animal species from the Natural Sciences collection.
The Secrets of QVMAG tour will allow visitors will see behind the scenes of the museum and look at the collection audit while learning about some of the most prized work they keep.
Guided tours for the First Tasmanians: Our Story exhibition will teach patrons crucial historical and cultural information. It was developed under the guidance of the QVMAG Aboriginal Reference Group.
First Tasmanians features rarely seen objects and focuses on climate change, astronomy, and stories of craft, creation, architecture and technology.
The Make it Place craft studio will back open for the school holidays and will offer a range of themed craft days such as under the sea, space, crazy creatures and transport.

The museum at Inveresk is open 10am-4pm daily. The Gallery at Royal Park is also open 10am-4pm daily with guided tours at 2:15pm. Bookings are essential.
