Launceston City Hockey Club pair Dominic Gill and Kaylee Demarco took top honours at the Northern Competitions Committee awards last weekend.

Named best and fairest out of the region's three Greater Northern League sides, Gill held off South Launceston duo Brad Buchanan and Kurt Budgeon while Demarco accounted for Queechy's Josie Kremerskothen and Lucy Cooper.
Tassie Tigers representative Budgeon edged out his skipper Buchanan in the goalscoring ranks, while South Launceston's Hayley Johns came in ahead of Lynette Stebbings despite both sides not making finals.
HOCKEY FINALS NEWS
Launceston City continued their strong run in the youth ranks, winning the junior club champion award as Queechy's two GNL preliminary finals and dual division two premierships helped them to the senior club champions.
Non-playing awards, including junior coach of the year and senior coach of the year, went to Launceston Church Grammar School's Leigh Richardson and Queechy Penguins' Jeremy Robinson respectively for their strong seasons.
