Saturday's match up between the Hawks and the Cavaliers is amping up to be one to remember, as both teams look to bolster their recent dynasties.
Cavs captain Shelby Miller said as always the week leading up to the final had been nerve-racking, with the team meeting on Wednesday night for the final hit-out and footage review.
This year's final lead-up would be made all the more nerve-racking as the Cavs face a team looking to run the table and go undefeated in 2020.
Hawks captain Danni Pickett said the team was really excited to face the Cavs on the big stage once more.
"Grand final week never gets old and [it] doesn't matter how many times you've been in it, there's always excitement surrounding the week and training's have been really good and upbeat," she said.
Pickett said being undefeated had its perks and niggles.
"It brings a little bit of pressure but also brings a lot of confidence on our end as well," she said.
"We know that when we play our best netball we're the best in the competition so for us it's about putting it out there for 60 minutes and being really consistent in that game."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Miller said facing a team as formidable as the 2020 Hawks would mean a no-mistake game was imperative for a chance at victory.
"With the Hawks, the key is to have a consistent game, you can't have any lapses in judgement or decision-making and every single person on the team has to do their job," she said.
"They're such a well-drilled team - if one aspect of your game breaks down they really make you pay for it."
Pickett attributed the team's 2020 juggernaut mentality to a culture change the team made together.
"We've worked incredibly hard at improving our team culture and our club culture over the past 12 to 18 months and I think that really shows on the court this year," she said.
The Hawks will have no shortage of finals experience at this weekend's match; Pickett said for a number of players it will be their fifth appearance in a row in the big game.
Crowds on Saturday will be kept limited due to COVID restrictions, with players allowed up to four people each to attend the game.
Miller said her mother, father, nan and boyfriend were her selections to be at the game.
For Pickett it will be her mother, father, brother and partner gracing the sidelines at the Silverdome on Saturday.
Hawks will be going in with a clean bill of health, with the Cavs missing star defender Dana Lester with an Achilles injury.
