Police believe a failure to give way has caused a log truck to crash into two cars in the Launceston CBD.
Tasmania Police acting Sergeant Daniel Knight said the log truck, which was in the centre lane travelling north on Bathurst St, failed to give way when attempting to merge.
"That has caused it to come in contact with the Mazda. That's spun the Mazda 180 degrees, and as it has done so it collided with a silver Prado coming through," acting Sergeant Knight said.
The scene is being cleared and traffic congestion is expected to ease shortly.
