A house has been completely destroyed by fire at Sheffield, the Tasmania Fire Service has said.

A spokesperson said the house on Main Street was very well alight by the time firefighters arrived and they were unable to save it.
"The house is destroyed. Pretty much on the ground," the spokesperson said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
It is understood there were people home at the time of the blaze but it is unknown if anyone was injured in the blaze.
A fire investigator is on their way to the scene to determine the cause.
Seven Tasmania Fire Service vehicles from across the region attended the blaze.
Traffic is being diverted from Torquay St into Formby Road to avoid Main Street, and motorists are asked to avoid the area where possible.
