Yarns Artwork in Silk depicts Meander Valley events and views across large silk panels, reflecting the four seasonal changes. It involved six months of community consultation to discover what should be reflected.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The artwork is housed in the Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre in Deloraine, and the centre's manager Vicki Pryer said it incorporated enough thread to circle the world several times.
"This spectacular exhibit incorporates enough thread to circle the world several times and captures the magic of Meander Valley in epic scale," she said.
"Each time you see the exhibit you notice special details not seen before.
"Yarns was created using silk dying, painting, intricate embroidery and quilting techniques that depict the history, fauna and flora of Meander Valley in seasonal flair."
The award ties in with the artwork's 25th birthday and its upgrade in July this year.
The Travellers Choice Awards recognised 4817 worldwide attractions, restaurants and experiences this year based on the reviews and ratings collected on Tripadvisor in 2019.
Tripadvisor's chief commercial officer Kanika Soni said winners of this year's awards should be proud.
"Not only are they well deserving, but they are a great source of inspiration for travellers," she said.
The artwork can be viewed daily at the visitor centre at 98-100 Emu Bay Road, Deloraine.
