Keeping Kingborough scoreless in an impressive first half, the Bombers were tested by physical and meteorological adversaries in the third term before a determined three-goal last quarter sealed a 6.4 (40) to 1.1 (7) victory.
"We were pretty pleased - it wasn't the most ideal conditions down there," midfield coach Steven Crooks said.
"There was a wind to one end, some pretty average rain there at one point and it was bloody cold.
"They kicked back at us in the third quarter and we were probably a little bit quiet in the third quarter for a period, but we responded in the last quarter so it was a good result for us."
Maggie Cuthbertson, Zoe Bourne, India Viney and Hayley Breward were the Bombers' best in a game that saw Sophie Farrow and best-on-ground Ella Maurer (two goals) leave the ground following heavy collisions with Kingborough opponents.
"Ella took a solid knock and left the field for a little period but then she went back on to play a key role in the game so to respond to that was pleasing," Crooks said.
"Credit to Kingborough, they gave us a pretty physical contest which we expected going in, so it was pleasing to respond to those sort of challenges."
The Northern Bombers will test themselves with a last-round clash against third-placed Glenorchy, who remain in the hunt for second spot, before a preliminary final date with Launceston.
