The artworks, created by local students, were created as part of the Northern Suburbs Community Centre's Our Community, Our Care project.
Wellbeing project officer Fakington Wilde says the project focuses on long-term health outcomes in the northern suburbs, and the artwork is about creating a connection between young people and healthcare services in the area.
"Normalising their connection with health services so that they don't feel that a health service is so much of a stranger," Mr Wilde said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Installed outside Mowbray Medical, the artworks have been created by students from Mowbray Heights Primary School and the community centre's Peeps youth group, with another soon to be installed created by East Tamar Primary School.
Youth worker Georgia Axton guided the project, and said the students were wholly in charge of the creative process from the design to the finished project.
"I had barely any input of what they were to look like," Ms Axton said.
"Many hands, light work. A whole bunch of kids covered in paint at the end of it," Mr Wilde said.
With the pieces being installed this week, the students involved are eager to see their work prominently displayed in their local area.
"Knowing that it was going to be in a public space and heaps of people were going to see it, something they were doing was going to be revealed to the public, they were very excited about that," Mr Wilde said.
"The more people in the community are involved in the artwork, the more ownership they have over it and the prouder they are of their place," Ms Axton added.
The artwork can be viewed outside Mowbray Medical on Invermay Road.
