Riley's five-goal, three-vote performance against North Hobart on Saturday sees him sitting in second place in the player of the year standings, just two votes behind his skipper Jobi Harper.
His five majors were accompanied by seven marks as he edged out young teammates Jake Hinds and Miller Hodge for the three votes.
Hinds almost doubled Riley's effort with 12 marks while collecting 21 disposals at an efficiency rate of 85 per cent as Hodge's 15 touches and six marks were enough to sneak in the votes.
MORE STATE LEAGUE
The best-on-ground showing from Riley marked his fifth appearance in the votes following back-to-back threes in rounds four and five, a two in round eight and a singular in round nine.
Across the river at UTAS Stadium it was Jay Foon and Josh Ponting who topped the tally for North Launceston, while former Brisbane Lion Josh McGuinness picked up votes for the second consecutive week.
The leading Northern Bombers amassed plenty of the pill with Foon collecting 28 disposals and two-time reigning Alastair Lynch Medallist Ponting one-upping him with 29.
McGuinness' 23 disposals were enough to steal the one vote in defeat, snatching it from the hands of teammate Will Poland who collected one more touch but struggled with efficiency - disposing at just 37 per cent.
The Southern pair found plenty of uncontested ball - McGuinness 20 and Poland 23 - as Ponting looked to do his work within the contest, claiming a huge 20 contested possessions.
ELSEWHERE IN SPORT
In the league's Southern showdown between Kingborough and Clarence, Kieran Lovell wasn't able to hold on to his second spot on the leaderboard but still sneaked in for a vote to sit on 11, one behind Riley's 12.
It was live-wire teammate Elijah Reardon who took main honours with 22 disposals and two goals and while the former Hawk matched his teammate's possession output, he couldn't cut it in front of the sticks - kicking 1.2.
Between them in the votes was Kangaroo Keegan Wylie who found himself uncontested 25 times on the way to his 27 touches in defeat, as did teammate and draft hope Oliver Davis.
