Animals invites those observing to appreciate the animal kingdom and explore some of our endangered species.
Mr Whittle said hosting an exhibition was a nerve wracking experience as you were putting yourself out there to be judged.
"It was going to be an exhibition of animals that were endangered species, and some of them are," he said. "But I also wanted to explore new techniques as well."
In other news:
Mr Whittle said the paintings were made to last, using acid free materials, cotton papers, and permanent colours. The pictures are also sewn together.
"I have a fairly low boredom threshold and I don't like doing the same kind of painting over and over again so from a stylistic point of view, I've never put a show up that's been quite like this before," he said.
Mr Whittle said many of the paintings were created during the pandemic, but there were concerns that he would be unable to have an opening.
"It wasn't until Tasmania became pretty much virus free we realised that we could, and even then we had to restrict the open and limit numbers."
The exhibition is on until September 26.
