A development application has been lodged with the Meander Valley Council to build 20 units on an internal block of land at 150-152 Dexter Road.
The project has an estimated price tag of $3.71 million.
The entrance to the block and the proposed units will be from frontage on Dexter Street through a block approximately 15.4 metres wide. The unit complex will be surrounded by properties with frontage on Shadforth, William and Franklin streets.
In other news:
It's proposed there will be two different types of units built on the 1.12 hectare block.
Fourteen will feature a double garage, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open-planned kitchen and living area.
The other six will feature a single garage, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open-planned kitchen and living area.
Each unit will be seven metres a part from one another and there will be six visitor parking spaces in addition to some unit's capacity to also have a visitor park on their driveway.
A traffic impact assessment found once the site was operational it would generate an additional 114 vehicles per day or an additional 12 vehicles per hour. The assessment found due to the low traffic activity level, the increase in traffic would easily be accommodated on Dexter St.
"Overall, it has been concluded that the proposed development will not create any traffic issues and traffic will continue to operate safely and efficiently along Dexter Street," the assessment stated.
However it did recommend a 10 kilometre per hour Shared Zone signage be placed at the entrance to the proposed development and to mark the site's central island as a micro roundabout.
The DA for the general residential zone block is available for public comment on the council's website until September 28.
