A crash involving a police car and a van caused traffic restrictions in central Launceston on Monday morning.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Tamar and Brisbane streets, outside the Royal Oak Hotel, about 9.15am.
A black van sustained significant damage to its front and appears to have collided with the rear left-hand side of a police vehicle, which has a bent rear-left wheel and other damage.
In a statement, Tasmania Police stated it was investigating the crash.
"Initial investigations indicate the van was travelling south when it collided with the police car which was travelling east through a green light," the statement reads.
"Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Launceston Police on 131 444."
In other news:
Police and the Tasmania Fire Service attended on the scene. Paramedics also attended, but police at the scene stated all occupants were cleared of injury.
The scene was cleared just after 10am and traffic has returned to normal.
Tasmania Police is investigating the incident.
