Typo is owned by the Geelong-based Cotton On Group, who operate Cotton On, Rubie Shoes, Supre, Cotton On Body, Cotton On Kids and Factorie.
A Typo store employee, who did not wish to be named, said the Brisbane Street mall store would become a Factorie.
In other news:
According to the Typo store employee, some of Typo's staff would be relocated between the new Factorie site as well as the Cotton On store on St John Street.
The employee said the closure of Typo would further limit stationary supply specialist shops in Launceston's CBD after Birchall's closed in 2017.
The Examiner contacted Cotton On Group for comment on Typo's closure.
