Cancer Council Tasmania event manager Melanie Knight said they still want people to continue to donate right through the month, but to reach their target before the end of the event weekend was exciting.
"It demonstrates peoples huge support for this event, for the work of Cancer Council Tasmania, and just the fact the Tasmanian community is really engaged with the message we are putting out there about cancer prevention, education in the community, and having a fit and healthy lifestyle," she said.

Participant Meg Culhane, of Newstead, said she thinks people are still looking for ways to support events that are fundraising, even during the pandemic.
"Obviously lots of people are affected by cancer, particularly breast cancer and people love to be active so it's a really nice way to support a great cause and get out and do something community-minded together," she said.
The event has had over 800 people register so far. To get involved head to www.womens5k.org.au.
