Artists at Harvest will now have a groovy new platform to perform on, with the market getting a new stage installed during the week. The SOMA - MONA FOMA Sound Stage is the first project funded by the Great Regional City Challenge to become a reality.

Challenge spokesperson Owen Tilbury said it was absolutely great to see a major project from the challenge come to fruition.
"I think it's very encouraging that this project has come as the first of the major projects that received funding where the community is looking for an opportunity to come together in an open space," he said.
"This is the perfect way of bringing the community together which is what the Great Regional City Challenge is all about."

Harvest Market committee member Caroline Williamson said artists had been thrilled to bits by the new stage.
"It means they don't need to get their equipment wet and we're really hoping that in future we'll be able to run events where we can have visiting artists and maybe movies and stuff at the same time," she said.
"For us this has just been such a great opportunity ... now more than ever it's important for the community to come together and after coronavirus you really start to realise what's important," Ms Williamson said.
"I think people are struggling at the moment and to be able to come together and listen to local music and eat local food, it's going to be special."
