Members of the Cricket North association for a number of decades, the Saints were removed from the 2020-21 grade roster on Wednesday night due to player shortages.
Club president and coach Winston Mason will discuss a move to the TCL with members of the league's committee on Tuesday, however, time is running out for the switch to take place.
The North's synthetic wicket competition had been set to release its roster on Monday morning ahead of an October 9 season launch and opening round on October 17.
"The TCL committee will meet with George Town on Tuesday night to gain an understanding of their situation," TCL president Darrell Whyte said.
"There are many things to consider and the TCL hopes to be in a position to decide on their formal request to join our league before the end of next week.
"This isn't an easy decision as there are already many TCL clubs struggling for player numbers, we need to weigh up the consequences of introducing another club into the league so close to the start of the season."
George Town withdrew from Cricket North's first-grade competition ahead of the 2014-15 season before returning for a winless campaign in 2015-16.
The Saints have not played first-grade since and have struggled for numbers despite winning the third grade title in 2018-19.
