Tasdance artistic director Adam Wheeler said there's no better way to get out of the pandemic blues than by joining a "Johnny Cash inspired, harp playing, boot-scootin', dance bonanza".
"We have got people of all walks of life and that was really important to both Junction and Tasdance that this is not a dance event for those that are dancers, this is a dance participation event for anyone," he said.
In other news:
Junction Arts Festival executive producer Frith Mabin said the organisation was excited to bring the community together and create relationships that would last beyond the performance.
To adhere to COVID-19 restrictions, the group of 100 dancers will be divided into four groups of 25 to rehearse. There will also be special online rehearsals offered for those who can't make it in person.
