BBL10 gets under way on December 3 - two days after state borders are pencilled in to reopen - and a Tasmanian bubble enveloping UTAS Stadium and Bellerive Oval is believed to be on the cards.

Such an outcome could see the state host a record number of Big Bash games despite last week's announcement that WBBL06 would be played entirely out of Sydney.

"We'd love it to start in Tasmania," Griffith said.

"We think we've got two excellent venues in Hobart and Launceston that can play some really good cricket so we'd love it to start in Hobart and Launceston and then we're ready to do whatever.

"We're trying to put a squad together that's got depth in case we lose players, but we're also trying to put a squad together that can play in different conditions and have different skill-sets.

"It'd be exciting if it was in Tasmania to start, but we'll wait and see we - know that things can change and we need to be flexible."

Meanwhile, Griffith remained tight-lipped on which, if any, international stars would be gracing Tasmanian shores this summer.

The 42-year-old refused to shed any light on the status of Jofra Archer, Qais Ahmad or Dawid Malan, but ruled out Indian dynamo Yuvraj Singh.

"I won't confirm anything on our overseas [players] at the moment, that's still all up in the air for us," he said.

"All options are on the table for us and we'll hopefully make some signings in the next few days or weeks."
