An obvious choice for top honours against Glenorchy, the 26-year-old electrician sits five votes clear of teammate Dylan Riley and seven ahead of North Launceston's Jackson Callow and Tiger Kieran Lovell.
But despite his form, Harper downplayed his achievements.
"I actually woke up and wasn't feeling well, I was actually quite crook in the morning," he said.
"But it's just one of those days, it was a nice day and the boys kicked the ball to me a couple of times - I think the boys looked after me a little bit."

Joining the Blues after a premiership win at South Launceston and stints at Western Storm, Werribee and Burnie, Harper has credited the growth of his young group for their 2020 success.
"Our core group has gone from an average age of 17 - your Jacob Boyds, your Ryan Tyrells, that group is now 20-21 - in the last three or four years.
"There's a big growth in that age with leaving school, working, your body shape and maturity, so I think that's where a lot of the group has come from.
"That group is so close, they knock around together away from the club and they've built that relationship and that's created a bit of a ripple effect on the club and it's been a good place to be around."
Teammates Fletcher Seymour and Riley rounded out the votes as Alex Lee, OIiver Sanders and Dan Withers polled for North Launceston.
