This is according to Evoke Property Styling co-owners Maddy Oliver and Robyn Midgley, whose passion for prettying property led them to start their business earlier this year.
"Being in Tassie, there's not that many options for this type of thing so we thought we could fill that spot," Ms Oliver said.
"The market here's gone a bit crazy for it ... since we've started we've been inundated with work."
Both Ms Oliver and Ms Midgley are also property managers; Ms Oliver said she wanted to make Evoke a full-time gig.
In other news:
She said the idea of property styling had grown in popularity due to its ability to raise value in an open home.
"Some people find it hard to visualise spaces and what you can use space for ... styling it is totally different to leaving it vacant or one the other hand one that has personal items or clutter," Ms Oliver said.
"It can be hard to visualise what you can do with a property when you visualise it like that.
"It's all here so people who walk in the door can walk around and experience it, which makes it different to the virtual styling in that you can do to make it look good on a computer but when you walk through it's still an empty space."
Ms Midgely admitted a lot about property styling had been learnt on the go, including how to pack up an entire houses worth of furnishings on a moment's notice.
"Sometimes if the property is sold earlier we'll come in and pack up and take it out," she said.
Thankfully, as well as getting help from renovators, Ms Oliver said the pair had two supportive husbands ready to do heavy lifting.
While, like many industries, property styling had taken a hit, Ms Oliver said the business was now fully booked until October.
"We were quite surprised - it just picked up straight away with COVID, it was about April when things went really quiet and we were like 'oh dear, what have we done?'," she said.
"But I think everyone got their confidence back and the market [real estate] started booming again and we just been super busy every since, it's really exciting and we're loving it."
