Two men are facing aggravated burglary and assault charges following an alleged incident at a Devonport residence on Monday night, police report.

A 45-year-old Burnie man and a 29-year-old Devonport man allegedly entered a residence on Croft Avenue around 11.30pm and assaulted a man with a paling and a metal pole.
The man was taken to the Launceston General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police charged the duo on Tuesday morning with aggravated burglary and assault as part of the ongoing investigation.
Tasmania Police said the men involved were known to each other and it was not a random attack.
