The 23-year-old opening bowler is again contracted to Melbourne Renegades. She linked with the franchise in the second year of the Big Bash.
The Renegades are scheduled to open the season against the Sydney Sixers on October 17. Under normal circumstances the squad would come together a fortnight before the competition starts. However, with COVID-19 this year is far from normal.
"It's all up in the air at the moment,'' Brown said from her Canberra home this week.
"I spoke to our coach the other day but nothing has been decided yet. I expect we'll go into some type of hub situation, but I don't know where that'll be, although I wouldn't think it would be Melbourne.''
Brown understands Cricket Australia is still working out the logistics for next season.
"It may be that the Big Bash is reduced, either in the amount of games we play or in the length of the season. But like I said, we just don't know at the moment.''
The Renegades have steadily improved in the WBBL rankings and have made the semi-finals for the past two seasons. Brown is confident the side is capable of going one step further next summer.
South African batter Lizelle Lee has been added to the squad and Brown's happy about that.
"Lizelle can hit you over the fence. So it's good to have her on our side,'' she explained.
However, Brown pointed out that the nucleus of the squad have been together for the past few years and she believes that will be a bonus in what could be a disrupted year.
"We know each other's game and that's going to help,'' she said.
Brown said she's in good shape physically and has been putting in the hours training at an indoor facility in Canberra. She'll again line up with the ACT Meteors in the Women's National Cricket League.
Brown watched as Australia won the T20 World Cup in March this year in front of nearly 90,000 spectators at the MCG. Her driving ambition is to achieve full international honours.
Brown has toured with Australian A sides in recent years. However, she's not sure what, if any, international cricket would be played in the foreseeable future.
"I've heard there could be a series against New Zealand, but I guess that would be in doubt at the moment,'' she said.
However, Brown's sure the WBBL06 will go ahead. She'll let the administrators work out in what shape and form the tournament is played.
