Market coordinator and Goaty Hills Wine owner Natasha Nieuwhof said it was good to be back in some capacity bringing quality local produce to Launceston through the market.

"We're adapting to our changing environment with COVID-19," she said.

"The new format of a takeaway market actually allows us to be able to operate which is just so important not only for the community ... but also for our producers and stallholders."

Market visitors will be able to attend the market, order something from stallholders, before leaving with their delicious takeaway goodies.

Ms Nieuwhof said stallholders had their income disappear given the cancellation of many a market due to COVID-19, making the market's return a welcome one for local businesses.

"Because we've been operating for a number of years, it's [night market] sort of become a supportive night market community that we've got going on [here]," she said.

"We thought the best way for us to do this was just to do a smaller, takeaway market which ensures we're complying with all the rules and regulations."

There will be nine stallholders selling a variety of foods and beverages; many of their menus will be available to browse prior to the night via social media.

Stallholders include Smallgrain, Big Bite Dutch Treats, Casa Paella and Red Brick Road Cider.

"It's a little bit smaller than our usual market, but these nine stallholders are all family-run and operated businesses who are based in Launceston and have been doing it for many years now," Ms Nieuwhof said.

Ms Nieuwhof said provided that COVID-19 remained controlled in Tasmania, market organisers hoped to host a normal market soon.
