The change has replaced the traditional reserves, who would come off the bench to replace players at each of the three quarter breaks.
Ruth Touhy and Kellie Woolnough, the co-coaches of the Northern Hawks, can not speak highly enough of the speeding up not only the game but tactics.
"It's been an opportunity to try different combinations and not waiting 15 minutes to be able to speak to the girls about things that they might be seeing," Tuohy said.
"Good fresh legs do bring different dynamics onto the court at the same time and it also gives an opportunity for some players to come off and have a look at something they might be missing that they might need to see rather than being brought off.

"We get to move players quite quickly with different positions all the time."
The rolling subs have been working for three rounds in the post-coronavirus period.
After admitting to struggling to manage the return against Cavaliers despite winning the grand final rematch, the flexibility appears to assist their depth on the bench.
"I think it just benefits our team a lot," Woolnough said.
"If we want to leave all seven players out there for 15 minutes, we can. If we want to roll players on, it works too, because I think it keeps our opposition guessing and keep us working hard."
