The Blues looked threatening, charging home in the last quarter but the Kangaroos flexed their muscle and showed their class to run home victors in the inter-divisional clash.
The victors controlled the play for the first 10 minutes but were unable to make major inroads on the scoreboard until Dom Shegog opened the scoring with his first of three majors for the day.
Campbell Huett followed as Old Launcestonians struggled to get past Deloraine club legend Brad Crowden in defence until a downfield free-kick resulted in captain Matthew Spohn's first.
He would kick the side's second minutes into the second quarter, following Deloraine young gun Ethan Sydes' first and another OL's goal, which meant the Blues were level pegging.
Tragedy struck for the Blues as recruit Jordan Harris was stretchered off with a dislocated knee, resulting in the stoppage of play until Sydes snagged his second to have the Roos up by six at the main break.
Deloraine furthered the lead to 23 points at three-quarter-time, kicking three goals to one as the teams traded 50-metre goal line penalties to secure the Blues' solitary major.
Brayden Butler would kick the first of the fourth, mirroring his third-quarter effort, as the game looked out of the Blues' reach - especially after captain Spohn came to the bench clutching his shoulder.

But the former Launceston player would return, taking a courageous mark to kick his third and spark a four-goal fightback.
Jeremy Jackson kicked two consecutive majors to put the Blues within just four points with under 10 minutes to go as Deloraine responded by dropping coach Lochy Dornauf back to the forward line.
Shegog's third would give the Roos some breathing room but Dornauf's two late goals secured the victory and continued his side's unbeaten run.
Matt Mitchell was named best-on for Deloraine as Latrobe recruit Tyler Kelly shone across half-back, while Campbell Fraser was Old Launcestonians' best - restricting Dornauf's influence in a run-with role.
BRACKNELL v ROCHERLEA
Bracknell's Corry Goodluck kicked seven but Rocherlea coach Andrew Cox-Goodyer's five would be enough to take home the chocolates as the Tigers defeated the Redlegs 16.9 (105) to 14.14 (98).
A clash with plenty of personal pride on the line with Redlegs coach Andrew Philpott employing several opposing players at Pro Scaff Tasmania, it would be his men that took a six-point lead at half time - ruing missed opportunities.
They maintained that lead going into the last but the Tigers managed to overrun them as Cox-Goodyer and brother Kaiden combined for eight majors.
Jacob Murphy was best-on for Rocherlea with Sam Suter and late inclusion Jordan Cousens helping him out as Braidon Pearn and Goodluck shone for Bracknell.
MEANDER VALLEY v BRIDGENORTH
Rohan Sergeant continues to lay down the law for Bridgenorth, booting 11 majors in the Parrots' 26.19 (175) to 4.5 (29) win over Meander Valley.
Registering efforts of 16 and 11 majors so far this season, the 24-year-old sits pretty as the NTFA Shield's leading goalscorer with 36, ahead of Cox-Goodyer (23) and Goodluck (17).

He helped his side pile on an eight-goal first term to put them in a dominant position and the foot barely slipped from the throttle.
Meander were able to kick three majors in the second quarter and add their last in the third, with the club's main coaching staff - women's leader Beau Polley (three) and Damien Rhind (one) - kicking the side's total.
UTAS FC v SCOTTSDALE
Scottsdale recovered from a shock loss against Old Scotch with a 26.23 (179) to 4.5 (29) win over University of Tasmania.
Daniel Viney kicked seven as 12 individual goalkickers hit the target for the Magpies, while John Morgan was the Lions' only multiple scorer and Brad Tuffin continued to impress for UTAS.
