"A couple of years ago we had a light dusting but it melted pretty quickly, but if you look around here it's really devastated the area."
Mr Garcia's property was damaged by snow crushing his garden, bringing down tree limbs onto his van, and collapsing his hand-built shade structure built for his plants.
The plant enthusiast had built the shade cloth on his property but it had collapsed onto his plants due to the weight of the snow and snapped the timber beams holding it up.

He said his hobby, which saw him spend many hours in the garden, was now lost.
"I will rebuild it back up, but at the moment it's all about waiting for it [the snow] to melt so I can assess the damage," he said.
Mr Garcia said he was lucky he hadn't any damage to his house and that a shipping container on her property had shielded his van from major damage.
He said he emerged on Tuesday morning to find his van covered under tree limbs and a blanket of snow everywhere, which was unusual.
Devon Hills residents were hit hard by falling limbs, with many driveways inaccessible and power cut to homes.
