Delivery drivers were unable to safely travel to collect and distribute papers due to the snow.

Home delivery customers who missed out on this morning's paper will be automatically credited.

ACM circulation manager Paul Dyson said deliveries started as soon as it was safe to do so.

"As of 9am the weather has started to clear and the ice has started to melt, which is allowing us to get our trucks out on the roads to deliver the papers.

"If your local distributor doesn't have them yet they should soon have them."

Newsagencies in the North-West, including Devonport, Deloraine and Burnie would have received newspapers from about 6.30am.

Central Launceston newsagencies were starting to receive newspapers mid-morning.

The East Coast and Hobart newsagencies would also get a supply throughout the day.

The Examiner editor Courtney Greisbach said the safety of staff was always the first priority.

"We have experienced a very unusual event in Tasmania, which has impacted deliveries for our home subscribers," she said.

"Our staff's health and safety will always be our top priority.

"We thank everyone for their understanding and continued support of The Examiner."
