Liberal candidate Jo Palmer has an 11-per-cent lead over her closest opponent with just over 4000 votes left to count in the Rosevears Legislative Council election.

The Tasmanian Electoral Commission resumed counting of postal votes on Tuesday which took Ms Palmer's count up to 9421 primary votes.
She has won about one-third of postal votes and 40 per cent of pre-poll votes.
In other news:
Ms Palmer's closest challenger, independent Janie Finlay, has 6870 votes - or 30.3 per cent of all primaries.
The electoral commission received a high number of postal votes with more than 11,000 received from Rosevears votes and more than 10,000 received from Huon voters.
More postal votes for the Huon election will be counted on Wednesday.
In that electorate, Labor's Bastain Siedel has a substantial lead over independent incumbent Robert Armstrong with 31.4 per cent of primary votes to 18.8 per cent.
