Old Launcestonians completed the first cycle of contests without a blemish to their record, defeating Meander Valley 9.5 (53) to 2.1 (13).
A six-goal opening term set the scene for the match-up as the Blues smashed the scoreboard early. From there, the Suns kicked a major in the second and the fourth as Old Launcestonians added one in every term to stretch the lead to the eventual 40-point margin.
Jessica Ringrose's four majors sent her to the top of the NTFA Shield goal-kicking tally, one major clear of Freeman-Finn and teammate Marlia Richardson Green, who kicked two in the contest.
Chelsea Ryan, Jessica Jamieson and former Sun Caitlyn Webster also booted majors as Jemma Lawrence and Leah Bryan did so for Meander Valley.
