The 100-year-old celebrated her century of trips around the sun, grinning ear-to-ear all day as she received plenty of well wishes.
Ms Greig said it was lovely to have so many people visiting her throughout the day to wish her a happy birthday.
She said she attributed her long life to a number of things, including her genes with both her parents and grandparents having all lived into their late 90s.
"I feel just the same as I did last week," Ms Greig said.
"I was well brought up ... I've been very lucky, and I've had a very good life."
Ms Greig was born in South Australia, but moved to the Tamar Valley almost immediately.
In other news:
She attended the Broadland House School (now Launceston Church Grammar School's junior campus) in the 1930s.
Her grandmother and daughters also attended Broadland House.
The LCGS Broadland House Old Girls' Association made a short video congratulating her on the milestone.
Golf was another of Ms Greig's lifelong passions, having been brought up near the Riverside Golf Course.
Her parents, John and Eileen Hewitt, were some of the initial members of the Riverside Golf Club.
Ms Greig sat on a number of golfing executive committees.
While she was modest about her golfing prowess, she said for her it was all about having fun.
"I've played quite a lot of golf ... I enjoyed it," Ms Greig said.
As well as hitting the links, Ms Greig is an avid gardener and reader.
Unfortunately due to the coronavirus, neither of Ms Greig's daughters could visit her on her big day as they reside on the mainland.

"I was very sad about that ... but [I] spoke to them on the phone today," she said.
A silver lining, however, is that Ms Greig will become a great-grandmother soon, with one grandchild expecting a newborn in August.
As is tradition, Ms Greig will receive a letter from Queen Elizabeth II.
"Why is she [the Queen] sending me a letter? I don't know her," Ms Greig said with a laugh.
