Nathan Luke Deckers, 28, of West Launceston, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and attempted robbery on July 2, 2020.
In other news:
Crown prosecutor John Ransom said Deckers and another man picked up a replica pistol in the morning and travelled to Devonport.
Deckers followed a 72-year-old woman and grabbed her handbag. When she pulled back Deckers broke her grip causing her to fall onto gravel.
Shortly after he followed a 63-year-old woman and while holding the gun grabbed her bag.
Two days later the co-accused contacted police and handed himself in and implicated Deckers.
A search of Deckers' residence located items stolen worth about $800.
Defence counsel Evan Hughes asked Justice Michael Brett to consider a drug treatment order rather than actual jail for his drug-addicted client.
Justice Brett adjourned sentencing until August 12.
