The event was schedule for November 2020, however, festival chairman David Reed said the situation was still too unpredictable to be able to hold a safe event for patrons.
He added that a survey distributed among Bicheno households revealed an "overwhelming" response believing that hosting the event would be too risky.
"So instead we turn our attention to 2021, where we will once again order a serving of our most glorious sunshine for the East Coast on the third weekend of November," he said.

The next festival is schedule for November 20, 2021.
Mr Reed urged all accommodation providers on the East Coast holding deposits for the weekend to offer refunds to those who booked for the event.
The festival regularly attracts thousands of people to the East Coast town, showcasing some of the area's most treasured culinary attractions.
