Tasmanian Electoral Commissioner Andrew Hawkey on Thursday said the commission had made a decision to ban sausage sizzles at polling places due to workplace health and safety regulations with coronavirus.
He said sausage sizzles were not typically present at polling places for Legislative Council elections due to venues having smaller crowds than state and federal general elections.

There are more than 26,000 people who live in the Rosevears electorate and about 25,000 in Huon.
As of the end of Tuesday, Mr Hawkey said about 1600 voters had already cast their vote in Rosevears and about 1000 early votes had been received in Huon.
Six candidates will vie for the seat in Rosevears which has been left vacant by former independent upper house member Kerry Finch after 18 years.
Six candidate will attempt to remove Houn independent MLC Robert Armstrong from the seat he has held for the past six years.
Counting of votes will start on Saturday night.
A ban on newspaper reporting on election day was repealed by Tasmanian Parliament last year.
Prior to that, reporting on the day could attract a fine up to $15,900 and three months' jail.
This weekend's upper house elections will be the first in Tasmania since the ban was lifted.
