A man was taken to the Launceston General Hospital after he was attacked with a glass bottle in Brisbane Street Mall during an attempted aggravated armed robbery that started at Princes Square.

Tasmania Police is investigating the incident, with reports a 33-year-old man was approached by two males - suspected to be teenagers - who demanded cash before assaulting him in Princes Square about 3pm on Wednesday.
The victim managed to flee, but was approached by the same males in the Brisbane Street Mall, near the bus interchange.

The offenders demanded cash again, before one of them struck the victim to the face with a glass bottle, causing non-life threatening injuries.
He was taken to the LGH for treatment.
One suspect was described as about 14 years old, Caucasian, 165-centimetres, with blonde-brown hair, wearing a white hoodie and long pants.
The other was described as about 15 years old, Caucasian, about 175-centimetres, brown hair, heavyset build wearing a green or blue hooded jumper.
