Windmill Lions Club has done its part in what has been a tremendous year for the Winter Relief Appeal, donating $1000 on Tuesday.

Windmill Lions immediate past president Linda Dilworth said the money donated was from the club's savings.
"We thought by donating to the appeal, we were helping support four wonderful charities in Launceston," she said.

The Examiner's Winter Relief Appeal annually raises money for four Launceston-based charities: Launceston City Mission, Launceston Benevolent Society, St Vincent De Paul and the Salvation Army.
This year's target of $70,000 has been smashed, with a current tally of more than $100,000.
