
A 10-year-old child and his family is coming to terms with his shock after a shark grabbed the him and dragged him off a fishing boat.
The boy was aboard a six-metre vessel on a fishing expedition with his father and two other men, about five kilometres off the coast of North-West Tasmania.

The boy's father jumped into the water after his son, at which point the shark swam off.
Ambulance Tasmania took the boy to the North West Regional Hospital with cuts to his arm, chest and head.
The incident follows a spate of shark attacks across Australia in the last year, including five fatal attacks.
The most recent was an attack north of Coffs Harbour, NSW. The 15-boy was rescued by surfers by died on the beach.
