Bauxite mining is in full swing near Campbell Town and trucking to the Bell Bay port has started.
Bald Hill Mine developer Australian Bauxite Limited said the cargo would be cement-grade bauxite.
The Sydney-headquartered company secured sales contracts for fertiliser grade and cement grade bauxite worth more than $2.5 million during April and May.
It said sales of fertiliser grade bauxite were growing steadily as demand for granulated superphosphate fertiliser increased.
The company has 14 tenements, in Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland.
Its Tasmanian deposits stretch from the Campbell Town area to the north of Launcetson and west to the Deloraine area.
Mining at Bald Hill started in 2014.
Australian Bauxite said it was Australia's first new bauxite mine in more than 35 years.
