Tasmania Police officers were called to Hobart Road on Wednesday afternoon after a man was stabbed.

Forensic officers were at Zap Fitness, while police patrolled streets and detectives spoke with employees at nearby businesses just before 2pm.

The victim was taken to the Launceston General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The offender was wearing a bright green top, but members of the public have been warned not to approach him and instead contact police on 131 444.
