City's goalkeeper leading into 2018, Peters broke her thumb in the opening round derby against Launceston United and spent much of the season's remainder playing as a striker.
The 26-year-old scored in four consecutive games early in the season, including a hat-trick against Burnie, and finished the year as the club's top scorer.
City will make its long-awaited return to the Northern Championship on July 18 and has the exciting dilemma of which end of the ground to play a fully-fit Peters in 2020.
"It's a bit of a mix-up but it was fun - hopefully this year I'll be able to have a go at forward and goalkeeping again," Peters said.
"We do have another goalkeeper which will be handy so hopefully we'll be able to do half each and then switch it up, but we'll see what happens throughout the year."
City's return to action comes after low player numbers forced both its Northern Championship and Women's Super League teams to pull out of last season.
Coached by Barry Baker and skippered by Kiara Walsh, the side will be looking to improve on its sixth-placed Championship finish in 2018.
"Obviously we're hoping to go well," Peters said.
"There's a lot of other clubs that have been around for years with a lot of experience playing together, so it's going to be difficult because we have a lot of young girls coming through.
"It'll be difficult getting to know everyone and due to corona we haven't had much of a chance to train.
"We did a bit of a pre-season but not everyone could be there because of other sports, so now we've got a few weeks to jam-pack everything in, get to know each other and see how each other plays.
"We're just looking to have fun and make sure we're all supporting each other."
City will kick off its season with a cup clash against Northern Rangers on July 11 before the league begins the following weekend.
