Tasmania Police has arrested a Trevallyn man after he was caught driving with an alcohol reading six times over the legal limit.

Officers were called to Bain Terrace at Trevallyn about 1.20pm, where according to police members of the public had taken the man's keys after he allegedly crashed into a parked vehicle.
No one was injured in the incident.
The 39-year-old was taken into custody, where he blew a reading of .325.

He was issued an on-the-spot disqualification from driving for 12 months.
Police said they were thankful for the public's intervention in preventing the man from leaving the area.
The man has been bailed and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in October.
