Mr Hills, 90, has been volunteering with the Benevolent Society for about two decades.
He started when one of his friends joined on the board, and he's helped out ever since.

"Over the last few months with so many people losing their jobs you have to do what you can to help them," Mr Hills said.
The Benevolent Society is one of four charities who receive funds raised through The Examiner's Winter Relief Appeal. The 2020 appeal has raised more than $60,000.
