The knockout cup competition that dates back to 1963 and has run every year since 2000 looked to be a victim of the coronavirus pandemic.
The halt early in the season from March left the FFA Cup qualifying tournament little more than collateral damage in a year the NPL Tasmania campaign itself was in doubt.
"So we are getting close to sorting all this out," according to Football Tasmania chief executive Matt Bulkeley.
"I'd expect early next week that we will have resolved the things that we are working through where we can start and where we can finish."
Bulkeley is just finalising the final touches on a revised Lakoseljac Cup fixture, but "did not want to speculate on things that might change".

The Lakoseljac Cup had reached the round of 16 stage before the NPL season was due to begin one week later when all remaining matches were first suspended before all but cancelled months on.
Football Tasmania hosted an online meeting of club presidents in May to discuss the direction of the season.
The consensus then was to call off the last remaining men's statewide cup competition for a year in a raft of changes to finish the season by the end of October.
But a switch of regional matches from the weekend to the middle of the week would open up four matchdays required to include the Lakoseljac Cup this year.
"We think we have a solution for it or we're close to having a solution and the clubs have a general consensus on that," Bulkeley said.
The Lakoseljac winner could miss out playing in the FFA Cup, with the national competition not guaranteed.
