Set to miss out on their annual mainland pre-season trip due to coronavirus, the Tigers' men's and women's outfits will prepare for a new campaign with intra-squad matches on their home turf.
Usually unavailable until late September, Bellerive is set to be a cricket-only venue this year after the pandemic led to complications with goalpost installation.
As a result, the weather will be the only thing stopping Tigers bowlers practising in the middle during winter.
"It's going to be a pretty unique season and probably a pre-season we won't ever have again," Tigers high performance general manager Simon Insley said.
"Obviously we've got access to the oval this year which means that we can have intra-squad games that we probably won't be able to have again, so we'll take advantage of this.
"Then it's our job and the players' job to make sure that's as competitive as possible so when we play our first league game it's not dissimilar."
Insley said Cricket Tasmania was taking its program back to basics in light of an unusual start to the year.
"You can add a lot to the game of cricket and make it as complicated as you want but I think what we've discussed as a training group is let's get back to the connection between the player and the coach," he said.
"Everyone's really clear on what they're trying to achieve - that we use our individuals skills to make sure people are improving and try not to over-complicate it.
"As long as we've got quality facilities here at [Bellerive] and we've got quality conversations between players and staff we're going to have good results."
The domestic campaign will run as planned in 2020-21, however, Second XI fixtures, male under-17 and male and female under-15 representative fixtures have been put on hold until 2021-22.
