Sheriff Civil Contracting director Jason Sheriff said they were first alerted to the incident on Sunday morning.
"We got a call early [Sunday] morning from one of the builders at the subdivision alerting us to the fact he had identified two of our shipping containers had been entered," he said.
"He could see our machinery had been damaged, windows broken and one of our trucks had the doors open"

Tasmania Police confirmed they were investigating reports of items being stolen from a construction site on Raglan Street at Youngtown overnight Saturday-Sunday.
"Offenders have cut the padlocks off two shipping containers and stolen items including a Laser Level Pipe Laser, Stihl Saw with diamond cutting blade, and copper cable," they said.
Mr Sherriff estimates about $10,000 to $15,000 of equipment was stolen and about $20,000 of damage was done to the site.
"As much as no one wants theft you understand theft more so than vandalism," he said.
"It is one thing to break and enter but the vandalism and sort of malicious damage there is on explanation for it really."
He said the incident has caused some downtime for the company.
"It has certainly slowed productivity for a few days, we will get by but the productivity side of things is a concern," Mr Sherriff said.
"To have equipment off the job getting repaired is down time we certainly weren't looking for."
Anyone with information in relation to the theft is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 - quote reference number OR641704.
